NCHR Receives EU Delegation to Discuss Ways to Strengthen Cooperation and Partnership

The National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) received representatives from the European Union Delegation to the Arab Republic of Egypt, led by Counselor Alberto Cortezon, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and dialogue between the two sides and exchange views on a number of human rights issues and matters of mutual interest.

The delegation was received by Dr. Ahmed Ihab Gamaleldin, President of NCHR, Mr. Mohamed Anwar El Sadat, the Vice President of the Council, and a number of NCHR Board Members.

The meeting addressed prospects for developing the existing cooperation between NCHR and the EU, strengthening channels of dialogue, and exploring opportunities to renew the partnership between the two sides in the coming period, in support of their shared efforts to promote and protect human rights.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on a number of human rights related issues and discuss potential areas of cooperation that could serve as a basis for further engagement and the exchange of expertise between the two sides.
