NCHR and the United Nations Discuss Strengthening Existing Partnerships and Cooperation

Dr. Ahmed Ihab Gamaleldin, President of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR), received Ms. Elena Panova, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Egypt; Ms. Natalia Winder Rossi, UNICEF Representative in Egypt; and Ms. Alessandra Viezzer, Head of the United Nations Resident Coordinator's Office in Egypt. The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat, Vice President of NCHR; Mr. Mohamed Osman, Board Member of NCHR; and Dr. Hany Ibrahim, Secretary-General of NCHR.

The meeting focused on exploring ways to further strengthen the existing frameworks of cooperation and partnership between NCHR and the various United Nations agencies and organizations, while reviewing current areas of collaboration and opportunities to enhance them during the coming period.

Both sides reaffirmed the importance of building upon the existing partnerships and ongoing cooperation programmes in a manner that supports NCHR's efforts to fulfill its constitutional and legal mandate to promote and protect human rights.
